Border Security Force Western Command Special Director General (SDG) Y B Khurania has urged the Jawans to maintain high vigil to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley.

Khurania said this while interacting with senior BSF officers, subordinate officers, and Jawans through a "Prahari Sammelan" which was held at Humhama on Srinagar outskirts during his five-day visit to the Kashmir Frontier that ended on March 22 last.

The visit was aimed at assessing the security situation and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) and reaffirming the commitment of the Force to safeguard India's borders.

The visit commenced with a detailed briefing by Ashok Yadav, Inspector General, BSF Kashmir Frontier on the security situation on the LoC and hinterland, a spokesman of the Force said.

The visit included an aerial reconnaissance and visits to forward-defended localities, as well as to the sector headquarters (SHQ) BSF in Kupwara and Srinagar. “At each location, the SDG engaged with local BSF Commanders and troops gaining firsthand insights into the security scenario and operational readiness along the LoC,” the spokesman said.

SDG Khurania also called on the Army’s 15 Corps Commander Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai and discuss the collaborative efforts between BSF and the Army and underscored the paramount importance of synergy for achieving peace, prosperity, and development in the valley.

Additionally, Khurania visited the Composite Hospital and STC BSF, Kashmir, where he reviewed the ongoing physical and professional skill training of recruits.

He commended the professionalism and expertise of the training team at STC BSF, Kashmir, highlighting their role in shaping the future of BSF personnel.

Concluding his visit, Khurania, interacted with senior officers, subordinate officers, and Jawans through a "Prahari Sammelan."

He lauded the high level of professionalism exhibited by BSF personnel and urged them to maintain high vigil to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace and harmony in the valley.
