BSF foils drug smuggling attempt, intercepts drone close to Pakistan border

In a swift and decisive operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully thwarted a drug smuggling attempt along the International Border in the Ferozepur sector during the early hours of Sunday.

Collaborating closely with the Punjab Police, authorities managed to seize a substantial haul of narcotics weighing approximately 2.5 kilograms.

On the morning of September 17th, at approximately 4:10 AM, BSF personnel detected the suspicious movement of a drone near Gatti Rajoke village in Ferozepur district.

In accordance with their established protocols, the vigilant troops promptly initiated measures to intercept the drone, ultimately taking it down in a precise operation, as confirmed by a senior BSF official.

Following the successful interception, a joint search operation was conducted in the vicinity, leading to a significant discovery at around 6:30 AM. A sizable packet, believed to contain heroin, was recovered from the fields near the village.

This recent operation marks yet another instance of the BSF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders and preventing illicit activities, including drug trafficking, from infiltrating Indian territory.

It is worth noting that the BSF had also recently neutralized a China-made drone in the Tarn Taran Sector on the evening of September 16th.

The quadcopter, identified as a DJI Mavic-3 Classic, was successfully recovered from the fields near TJ Singh Village during a joint search operation involving both BSF personnel and Punjab Police.
