Bribe: CBI arrests ADFM

New Delhi, May 13 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday said on Friday arrested an Additional Divisional Financial Manager (ADFM) of South East Central Railway, Bilaspur for demanding and accepting a bribe from the complainant.

The CBI said the official demanded  Rs.11,600 from complainant.

"A case was registered U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against ADFM working in the Office of Senior DFM, SEC Railway, Bilaspur (Chhatisgarh) on a complaint received from one contractor alleging demand of illegal gratification @ 0.5% of contract value as a reward for having facilitated the negotiation process in Work Orders.  CBI laid a trap and the ADFM, SEC Railway was caught red handed while receiving bribe of Rs.11,600/- from the complainant," read an official statement.

Searches are being conducted at the premises of accused.

"In another case, CBI has caught a Tax Assistant red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.7,000/- from the complainant. A case was registered against the Tax Assistant, Income Tax Office, Kashipur (Uttrakhand) on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.7,000/- from the complainant in lieu of refund of TDS.  Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused," it said.

  The arrested accused was produced before the Designated Court at Dehradun and remanded to Judicial Custody.
