Bomb scare in West Bengal bus

Jalpaiguri, Jan 6 (IBNS): A bomb scare broke out in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district on Tuesday when passengers were travelling in a state-run bus, media reports said.

The alarm was raised by commuters over an unclaimed tiffin box.

Sources said the bus had left the Jalpaiguri depot with a couple of passengers and about a dozen more passengers got on the bus at the next stop.

“An elderly man travelling with a child called me and pointed to a suspicious object that looked like a tiffin box lying under the seat in front of him,” said the bus conductor Nirmal Paul.

Reports said the conductor immediately told the driver to slow down the bus and take it to a less crowded spot.

All passengers safely evacuated the bus. The bomb squad rushed to the spot. The police investigations are on.
