Kolkata, Jan 3 (IBNS): To protest against the alleged TMC attack at its headquarter in Kolkata, the Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a rally in the city on Wednesday.

Party's National Secretary Rahul Sinha told IBNS, "You can see how TMC activists attacked our party office, pelted stones aiming us our activists and vandalized several cars, parked near our office."

"We will host a march in Kolkata tomorrow to protest against the coward attack of TMC," Sinha added.

The senior BJP leader also said that Union Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh will be informed about the matter.

"I will be going to Delhi tomorrow to inform Union Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh about the sudden attack of TMC," Sinha told IBNS, while leaving the party headquarter in city's Central Avenue area.

Hours after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested TMC Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay, a large number of TMC activist-supporters allegedly attacked several BJP party offices, including its WB headquarter in Kolkata, across the state.

A heavy police force along with Rapid Action Force (RAF) was rushed to the spot, but the situation could not be brought under control till night.

Later, as many as 20 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were deployed to the scene.

"As BJP's National Secretary is inside the party office here, we have been instructed to protect him and save the party office from the attackers," in-charge of the CRPF unit told IBNS.

However, the situation is completely under control there and a huge police force have been posted at the spot to avoid further untoward situation.

Meanwhile, Sudip Bandyopadhyay will be flown to Bhubaneswar shortly to be produced before a local court in Odisha's Khorda district on Wednesday.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee called the arrest a political vendetta of BJP-ruled Central government, as her party was leading protest against Centre's demonetisation move.
