Lucknow/Patna, Mar 14 (IBNS): In a major blow to the saffron brigade, the BJP is on the verge of losing both the Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, bypolls for which were held recently,  media reports said.

In a stunning development,  the Samajwadi Party (SP) takes a lead of around 11000 votes in UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's bastion, Gorakhpur constituency as counting is in the final stage.

Akhilesh Yadav's SP is ahead of the BJP in Phulpur seat as well. The seat was vacated by Keshav Prasad Maurya, who became the deputy CM of the state in 2017.

In both the seats, the SP and Mayawati's BSP have forged an alliance.

In Bihar too, the BJP is facing the  scare of a defeat as it is trailing in Araria Lok Sabha  and Jehanabad assembly constituencies..

In both the constituencies Lalu Prasad's RJD is leading.

The Bhabua seat is turning out to be the only breather for the BJP as it is ahead of the RJD.
