BJP member shot dead by gunmen in Kashmir's Anantnag

Srinagar, May 4 (UNI) A BJP leader was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag district of south Kashmir on Saturday night, official sources said.

 They said unknown gunmen fired upon BJP member Ghulam Ahmad Mir at Nowgam Verinag in Anantnag district. The injured was rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

A Police Spokesperson, however, posted on Twitter, 'Unknown terrorists fired upon a member of the BJP namely #Ghulam Ahmad Mir# at Nowgam Verinag. Shifted to hospital in critical condition. Further details awaited.'
