New Delhi/UNI: After the nationwide protest against the new Citizenship law, the ruling BJP has started organising rallies and meetings trying to explain the various facets and positive aspects of the Act.

Several such rallies have been organised in Assam and other states during last two days, the party leaders say.

"The pro CAA rallies organised by BJP e.g., Assam and Tamil Nadu are drawing massive crowds," tweeted senior leader and MP Dr Subramanian Swamy.

Union Minister and Asansol MP Babul Supriyo also tweeted, "The roads of Asansol get flooded by an ocean of support in favour of CAA by demolishing all the political conspiracy by the TMC hooligans. It has been a historic rally in the history of Asansol".

Such a 'pro CAA' rally was organised at Nalbari in Assam on Friday which was attended by about 30,000 people, claimed BJP leaders.

This was the first time such a public meeting was organised since the passage of new Bill in Parliament by the ruling party.

It was addressed by state Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma among others.

The Chief Minister called upon the people to come out for permanent peace and normalcy in the state.

Meanwhile in a tweet, BJP MP from Karnataka Shobha Karandlaje used hashtag '#ISupportCAA_NRC' and sought to highlight misinformation found among the anti-CAA protestors.

"Shocking levels of misinformation found among the protestors. (They say) #CAA is discriminatory against women who get married and change their surnames multiple times”, she wrote adding such was displayed during the protest at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan.

The BJP has started a nationwide campaign trying to highlight the positive aspects of the new law and also to allay fears of those who feel the CAA is against any particular religious community.
