New Delhi/IBNS: The country's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s two-day National Council meet began at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Modi, the supreme leader of the saffron party, arrived this morning at Bharat Mandapam, where he was welcomed by BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Modi lit the candle at the meeting with Union Home Minister and BJP strongman Amit Shah by his side.

At a press conference earlier, Union Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the meeting of the office bearers will be held on the inaugural day.

The two-day meeting will focus on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and Viksit Bharat, the agenda of the BJP for the upcoming polls.

"An exhibition of Viksit Bharat will be organised," said Prasad.

Prime Minister Modi will deliver the concluding address to the BJP leaders on the second day of the meeting on Sunday.

The meeting comes days after Modi exuded confidence in BJP winning 370 seats and the ruling coalition NDA crossing the 400-mark in the upcoming elections.
