Bihar topper scam: Ruby Rai gets bail

| | Aug 02, 2016, at 04:02 am
Patna, Aug 1 (IBNS): Ruby Rai, the girl who was arrested for cheating in the Bihar state board Class XII Arts examination, will be finally released.

The police had arrested Bihar state board Class XII Arts 'topper' Ruby Rai for cheating in the exams.

Following her arrest, she was moved to a juvenile home. She was denied bail twice.

Rai was granted bail on Monday.

The Juvenile Justice Board had earlier ruled that she had committed a serious offense by conspiring with others to emerge as a topper in the Class 12 Humanities exam held earlier this year.

Rai had triggered controversy and embarrassment when she had called  political science as “prodigal science” before TV cameras. She even said that the subject was about cooking.

She had also failed the re-examination conducted by the state board.

The board had cancelled her test result after she failed to pass the re-examination.
