Bihar shelter home horror: CBI takes prime accused Brajesh Thakur into custody

Patna, Aug 12 (IBNS): After a marathon grilling of 11 hours, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team on Saturday took possession of Brajesh Thakur, the prime accused of the Bihar shelter home rape and physical torture case, media reports said.

The CBI team came to Thakur's home at 9 am in the morning and left with Brajesh as well as his son Rahul Anand at 8 pm.

The CBI team was also accompanied by forensic experts who are believed to have inspected the shelter home.

As per the allegations of one of the victims that a girl was buried in the courtyard of the shelter home after being murdered, the CBI conducted searches for one whole day but could not find any body, said reports.

The heinous incident came to light in April following an audit of the shelter home by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, which said many girls had complained of sexual abuse.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar last month had asked the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and the DGP to hand over the case to the central agency.

Till now, the police have arrested 11 persons in the case, including Brajesh Kumar, the prime accused, who is the owner of NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti that ran the shelter home.
