Bihar: Senior government officer arrested on graft charge
Gaya, Apr 26 (UNI) Vigilance sleuths caught sub divisional officer of Gaya (Sadar) Suraj Kumar Sinha red handed when he was accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakh here on Wednesday.
DSP (Vigilance) Gopal Paswan said that a trap was laid on the government officer under his leadership when one Sarim Ali, a native of Wazirganj lodged a compaint against him.
Ali said that the government officer was threatening to impose sections 144 and 145 of IPC even when a court verdict in a land dispute had gone in his favour if he did not give bribe of Rs 5 lakh.
Paswan said the government officer was being brought to Vigilance Department headquarters in the state capital for interrogation and subsequent production in the Vigilance Court.
