Bihar: Rs 24 lakhs looted from ATM in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur/UNI: Motorcycle borne criminals today looted Rs 24 lakhs from ATM of a private bank when cash was being replenished at Kachi Pakki area under
 

Town police station area in this district. Police said here that two motorcycle-borne criminals attacked ATM of a private bank when cash was being replenished.

They snatched gun from security guard standing near cash van and looted Rs 24 lakhs from the agents engaged in replenishing the cash and managed to escape from the spot after pulling down its shutter, police added.

"We are trying to activate the CCTV to gain access to the video footage," police said adding that two agents and security guard of the agency had been detained as their activities were found to be suspicious.

Incidentally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, DGP Gupteshwar Pandey and senior officers were in Muzaffarpur during "Jal Jeevan Hariyali" yatra when the incident occurred.
