Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday assured that all required facilities would be extended to Madarsas in the state to improve their quality of education and other infrastructures.

Kumar during his ongoing " Samadhan Yatra" in the Siwan district of Bihar, told media persons that he was on Yatra to personally see the progress of schemes and projects launched by the government.

He had also visited the Madrasa in Siwan district to see teaching arrangements made there for minority students, he added.

"Earlier, teachers of Madarsa were not getting salaries but his government made arrangements to ensure payment of salaries to them on time", the Chief Minister said adding that science subjects were also being taught in Madarsas in Bihar.

"The demand for expansion of Madarsa had been made and it would also be done by his government," he added.

Kumar said that he had directed all authorities concerned to ensure the required support to Madarsa for imparting quality education.

As per demands made by locals, he also issued instructions to authorities concerned to establish a degree college, Kumar informed.
