Bihar: Fifth phase of voting begins

Patna, Nov 5 (IBNS) Voting began in the fifth and final phase of the Bihar Assembly polls as voters spread across 57 constituencies are currently exercising their franchise on Thursday.

In a bid to ensure fair elections, tight security arrangements have been made across the constituencies in the state.

Fates of 827 candidates will be decided An electorate size of 1,55,43,594 are eligible to cast their votes in this phase of the poll.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters to exercise their franchise in the final phase of polling.

At least 11.23 percent voters have cast their votes so far.

The polls assumes significance as it will witness a battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Janata Dal (United) , the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

During the campaigning, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi  had regularly exchanged barbs which had set the tone for a crucial Assembly polls in the state.
