Kolkata, Jun 30 (IBNS): Senior Bengali movie, television and stage actor Chinmoy Roy was seriously injured after falling from the terrace of his multi-storey apartment at Golf Green in south Kolkata on Saturday late evening, reports said.

According to reports, other residents of the apartment found Chinmoy Roy injured underneath his flat at around 7 pm.

The 78-year-old actor was rushed to a private hospital at Mukundapur area near EM Bypass where he is undergoing treatment in a serious condition.

"He has received multiple injuries in his head, hands and legs. The actor has been shifted to ICU and he is under continuous monitoring," a source in the hospital told IBNS.

Local police, however, have started investigation into the incident.

"We have initiated a probe to know how, in which situation and exactly from where the versatile actor fell," a local police official said.
