Bankura/UNI: BJP legislator in West Bengal, Chandana Bauri, who has been charged under section 498 following a complaint by the wife of her car driver, on Thursday surrendered before a court of law in Bankura district, official sources said .

A case under section 498 was filed in the local police station by Rumpa Kundu, wife of Krishna Kundu, the driver, that her husband and the BJP lawmaker allegedly have extra-marital affairs and the duo may have tied a nuptial knot in a local temple secretly.

Krishna Kundu also alleged in her complaint at Gangajalghati police station that her husband and the MLA also threatened her with dire consequences.

Even before winning on the BJP ticket from Saltora assembly segment in Bankura, Chandana Bauri (30), mother of a child, came to limelight for contesting election for being a poor and wife of a daily wage earner.
