Attack on Alka Lamba: One detained

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IBNS): One person has been arrested in connection with the attack on Aam Aadmi Party leader Alka Lamba in north Delhi's Kashmere Gate area early on Sunday morning during an anti-drug drive, reports said.

Lamba received minor head injuries and was rushed to Aruna Asaf Ali hospital.

She was released from the hospital a short while later.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "@LambaAlka Proud of you Alka."

Party leader Ashutosh said: "Locals told us-Man,attacked Alka lamba was working in Sweet shop. shop is owned by present BJP MLA Om Prakash Sharma. "

"She was targeted as she was the only one who got hit in crowd. It's deep conspiracy. AAP will fight back," he said on the attack on Lamba.

The drive started at 5 AM and at around 6 AM, a man with blanket wrapped around his head approached near Lamba and threw stones at her.

Following the attack, Lamba posted a tweet, where she wrote that this is the result of fight against drugs.
