Assam: Two died after consuming illicit liquor

Guwahati, May 5 (IBNS): Two people died and five others were seriously ill after consuming illicit country-made liquor in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district on Friday, officials said.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Bordumsa area in the upper Assam district, where seven people felt seriously ill after allegedly consuming illicit country-made liquor.

Among them two persons found died in their house while five others were admitted at government run hospital at Margherita.

The deceased persons were identified as Palash Hazarika and Gobeswar Moran.

A top official of Tinsukia police said that, police has started investigation into the incident and the vendor who selling the country-made liquor was taken into custody.
