Assam reports four new COVID-19 positive cases, tally rises to 20

Guwahati/IBNS: Four more positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported in Assam, who attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi and with these the tally in the northeastern state has been increased to 20.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “Four more patients have been found #Covid_19 positive. Three of these are from Nalbari, and one is from South Salmara, taking total no in Assam to 20. All these 4 people are also associated with #NizamuddinMarkaz event.”

Out of four new cases, three people are from Nalbari district and one from South Salmara district.

According to the reports, eight cases have been reported from Golaghat district, four from Nalbari district, three from Morigaon and one each from South Salmara and Karimganj district and all cases were linked with Nizamuddin Markaz.

Sarma said that, all 20 cases are those people who participated in Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz.

All 20 positive cases for COVID-19 have been detected in Assam in the last 72 hours.
