Assam: Police arrest three in connection with a gang-rape and murder case

Guwahati/IBNS: Police have arrested three persons including a woman for their alleged involvement in a suspected gang-rape and murder of a woman in Assam’s Darrang district.

On Saturday, police recovered the body of a woman from a deserted maize land in Daipam Namati village under Dalgaon police station and following the incident police had arrested the persons from two villages.

Darrang district police have suspected that the woman was first gang raped and later she was murdered.

The victim woman was hailing from Udalguri district.

Police have registered a case (No 192/2021) at Dalgaon police station under relevant sections.
