Assam on high alert following report of 5 Bangladeshi terrorists' infiltration
Guwahati, July 7 (IBNS): Assam Police on Thursday sounded high alert across the state following a report of five Bangladeshi terrorists entering the state.
Assam Police ADGP (SB) Pallav Bhattacharya said, "We have sounded high alert across the state following a report that five Bangladeshi terrorists had entered the state."
“This is an unconfirmed report, but we are alerted for any situation and sounded high alert in all districts including bordering districts with Bangladesh and Meghalaya,” the senior police official said.
According to the reports the terrorist group had entered in Assam from South Garo Hills in Meghalaya side.
Following the intelligence input, Assam Police has increased security in Kamakhya temple, Borjhar International airport, hotels in Guwahati and several tourist places across the state.
