Guwahati, Aug 7 (IBNS): In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old man was forced to carry his dead wife body on his shoulders from a government run hospital in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district after he was allegedly denied ambulance service.

The incident had happened at Diphu in the hill district on August 5 night.

According to the reports, the woman named 58-year-old Kadom Ronghangpi – wife of 60-year-old Men Bey, had been suffering from diarrhoea for several days and was admitted to the Diphu Civil Hospital on Monday morning, but she unfortunately breathed her last later in the day.

The man requested the hospital authority to provide an ambulance to carry his dead wife body, but the hospital authority denied it.

After he was denied ambulance service, the helpless man carried his dead wife body on his shoulders from the hospital till Men Ronghang village, which is about 3 km from Diphu town.

Superintendent of Diphu civil hospital Dr Nukul Shyam said that, he didn’t know about the incident on that day, but he came to know about the incident yesterday.

“It is due to miscommunication. The victim should have approach to the appropriate authority. The ambulance was running condition.” Dr nukul Shyam said.
