Assam govt sacks senior journalist from advisor post of Raijor Batori

Guwahati, Nov 21 (IBNS) : Assam government on Tuesday sacked veteran journalist Dhirendra Nath Chakravarty from the post of Advisor of the state government mouthpiece Raijor Batori. 


The state government has taken the decision after controversies emerged in the state following a outrageous remarks on Naga people made by the senior journalist recently and the journalist getting associated with multiple controversies in recent times.

Chakraborty had recently made a controversial communal comment during a book release programme held in Guwahati in front of the Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, advocated killing of Naga people who are encroaching land belonging to Assam.

Following the outrageous comment three FIRs have been lodged against the senior journalist over his provocative comment at various police station in the state.

On Tuesday, Chakraborty again louded his voice against illegal encroachment of Assam lands by Naga people.
