Assam: Eight persons of a marriage party killed in road accident

Guwahati/IBNS: At least eight persons of a marriage party were killed in a road accident in Udalguri district of Assam in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident took place at Orang Gelabil area, where an Ertiga car hit a stationary truck from backside on National Highway 15.

The deceased persons were travelling the Ertiga car bearing registration number of AS-12B-2021 and they were returning from a wedding party.

All the passengers of the car died on spot.

Six among the deceased persons were identified as Diganta Saikia, Partha Kuri, Narayan Das, Rinku Saikia, Ranjit Deka, Parima Kuri.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed his condolences over the tragic incident.
