Arvind Kejriwal detained, Mamata Banerjee calls move as 'unacceptable'

Kolkata, Nov 2 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said detention of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he tried to meet the family of an ex-servicemen, who allegedly committed suicide, was "unacceptable".


"What is happening ? Unprecedented . A CM is detained in his own State. He cannot move about freely. Unacceptable," Banerjee tweeted.

Kejriwal said he has been detained by the police.

The Chief Minister tweeted: "Formally detained by the police. No idea where they are taking me."

Ram Kishan Grewal allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday over the demand to implement the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.

Kejriwal earlier tweeted: "Spoke to his son just now. He said he was manhandled by police. They hv been detained in CP police stn. Am gng there now to meet family."

He said: "My vehicle surrounded by police. Not allowing me to leave."
