Arunachal Pradesh Governor felicitates ITBP personnel

Guwhaati, June 28 (IBNS): Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) on Friday felicitated the officers and personnel of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for saving the lives of car accident victims including a woman with an infant, near Gohpur Market, Itanagar on May 10 at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

The troops led by Himanshu Tiwari, Deputy Commandant of ‘A’ coy of the 54th ITBP Battalion came to their rescue, acting on their own initiative and volition on humanitarian grounds.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that people look up at the members of the uniformed forces with expectation for help and assistance at the time of crises and in emergency. The common belief and expectation of our civil population is that the uniformed forces will always rise to their expectation which on account of their training and tradition. He expressed his appreciation that the troops carried out the commendable job in rescuing the accident victims and said that their action reflects their goodwill for the general public.

Sharing his experiences abroad, the Governor said that because of the helpful nature and sagacity of the Indian uniformed forces, they are the most sought after force by the United Nations operations for worldwide deployment.

First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, Sanjeev Raina, Inspector General, ITBP, Mamata Riba, Joint Secretary to Governor, Mukesh Kumar, Commandant, 54th ITBP Battalion and other officers of the Raj Bhavan were present on the occasion.
