Arun Jaitley inaugurates new CGA office and portal for central civil pensioners

New Delhi, Sep 14 (IBNS): Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arun Jaitley inaugurated the ‘Mahalekha Niyantrak Bhawan’, or the new premises of Office of the Comptroller General of Accounts (CGA), in New Delhi on Wednesday, according to media reports

Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal and the Finance Secretary, Ashok Lavasa were also present at the inauguration.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley  also launched  a “Web Responsive Pensioner’s Service” developed by the Central Pension Accounting Office during the inauguration on Wednesday.

The web portal aimed at central civil pensioners will serve as a one-stop destination for information and speedy redressal of grievances.

During the launch of the portal, the Finance Minister said that government money cannot be indefinitely parked in schemes as it leads to inefficiencies and impedes growth, media reported.

He said that government money lying at various ends, including states, should be released as per utilisation requirements.
