New Delhi, Sept 19 (IBNS): Sending a strong message to Pakistan following the militant attack at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army on Monday said it reserved the right to respond to any act of the adversary at a time and place of 'own choosing'.

"However, we have the desired capability to respond to such blatant acts of aggression and violence as deemed appropriate by us. We reserve the right to respond to any act of the adversary at a time and place of own choosing," DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh told media.

He confirmed that army operation has ended.

"I had briefed all of you on the terrorist action in Uri yesterday. The Army operations have been called off after conducting a detailed search of the area in and around the military complex at Uri," Singh said.

"The total recoveries from the slain terrorists is four AK 47 rifles, four Under Barrel Grenade Launchers, 39 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher grenades, five hand grenades, two radio sets, two GPSs, two Map Sheets, two Matrix Sheets, one Mobile Phone and a large number of food and medicine packets having Pakistani markings," he said.

He said the infiltration attempts by terrorists have shown a marked increase in comparison to the past 3 to 4 years.

"Of a total of 110 terrorists eliminated in J&K, 31 have been killed while they were attempting to cross the Line of Control," he said.

Meanwhile,  the number of soldiers killed in Sunday's deadly terror attack on Uri Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 18  after a jawan succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

An official reports said sepoy K Vikas Janardhan succumbed to his injuries at R & R hospital in New Delhi.

Eighteen more injured jawans are now in hospital, six of them in serious condition.

On Sunday early morning, four terrorists sneaked into the Uri Army camp and lobbed grenades before making brush fire as most of the soldiers were in sleep.

All the attackers were also killed in counter Army attack.

In Srinagar, J & K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti paid tributes to the martyred soldiers.

An official said the CM later visited the injured soldiers admitted in the 92 base hospital of the Army.
