Army chief visits Northern Command in J&K

Udhampur, Dec 2 (IBNS): Gen Dalbir Singh, the Chief of Army Staff has visited the Northern Command in Jammu and Kashmir.

He was received by the Army Commander, Lt Gen DS Hooda, who later briefed him on the overall security situation in Jammu & Kashmir.

Army Chief also interacted with other senior officers and discussed operational and security issues. 

Gen Dalbir Singh visited forward locations on the Line of Control where he was briefed by the commanders on ground as he met the brave soldiers on the frontline.

He lauded the steadfastness, alacrity, dedication displayed by troops in maintaining the sanctity of Line of Control and peace and tranquillity in the hinterland. 

Later in the day he visited 18 Cavalry where he also interacted with many distinguished veterans.  The Chief of Army Staff departed for Delhi in the evening.
