AP: Covid-19 positive woman undergoes cesarean, gives birth to baby boy

Eluru/UNI: For the first time in State, a 28-old-woman who was tested positive for Coronavirus has undergone Cesarean operation and given birth a baby boy in the ASRIMS hospital.

Doctors of the ASRIMS hospital said here on Tuesday that the 28-year-old pregnant woman belongs to Narikeshwarapuram village in Pedapadumandal in West Godavari district, was tested positive for Coronavirus.

The doctor performed delivery through Cesarean operation and the mother and the infant baby boy are safe and healthy, doctors said. The doctors collected samples of the new-born baby and sent for laboratory for testing for Coronavirus.

She is the first woman who was undergone for Cesarean operation while being a Coronavirus positive patient, the doctor said. She was shifted to isolation ward being treated, the doctor said.

ASRIMS hospital CEO Dr K Hanumantha Rao congratulated the team of doctors for successfully performing Cesarean operation to the Coronavirus positive patient.
