Anti-hijacking drill conducted at Kolkata Airport

Kolkata, May 14 (IBNS): A mock anti-hijacking drill was conducted by Airport Authority of India at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport on last Thursday, wherein response time of different agencies involved in the exercise was checked.

This was followed by a meeting of Aerodrome Committee convened by Airport Director Atul Dikshit.

The committee, under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Home and Hill Affairs Department Atri Bhattacharya deliberated on the measures to be taken, role and responsibilities of all government agencies and stakeholders in eventuality of hijacking.

Concerned central, state, police and defence officials participated in the meet.
