Another Tamil author attacked

| | Feb 27, 2015, at 11:55 pm
Chennai, Feb 27 (IBNS) A month after Tamil author Perumal Murugan's self-proclaimed "death" following protests against his books, another author has been attacked in Tamil Nadu's Karur for his alleged portrayal of a community in poor light.
Police said on Friday the author was admitted to hospital with "not so serious injuries."

A collection of short stories of Pulliyur Murugesan has caused the ire of members of the Kongu Vellalar community, who have demanded a ban on it, reports said.

One of the short stories in the book, 'Balachandran Enra Peyarum Enakkundu,' is said to be the precise cause of their anger.

Police have so far arrested seven people in connection with the attack on Murugesan.
