Newark/IBNS: In a repeat of what had happened in the last week of December, another Hindu temple in the United States' Newark was defaced with a pro-Khalistani remark.

The incident happened at Sherawali Temple in Newark, California.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) posted on X, "Another Bay Area Hindu temple attacked with pro-#Khalistan graffiti.

"The Vijay’s Sherawali Temple in Hayward, CA sustained a copycat defacement just two weeks after the Swaminarayan Mandir attack and one week after a theft at the Shiv Durga temple in the same area."

Highlighting the temple safety guide, the HAF has stressed on the importance of the installation of "security cameras and alarm systems in view of the rising threat from Khalistan".

In December last year, the Swaminarayan Temple in Newark was defaced with Khalistani slogans.

The graffiti also mentioned slain Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's name on the walls.

India had strongly condemned the incident of the defacing of SMVS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at Newark, California, with anti-India graffiti, saying "it has hurt the sentiments of the Indian community".

'Khalitani' row

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged that an Indian official was involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

India rubbished Trudeau's claims calling them "motivated" and "absurd".

Later, the US claimed an Indian official had directed an attempt to murder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, an American and Canadian citizen who is branded as a terrorist by India in 2020.

US authorities have claimed 52-year-old Nikhil Gupta and an Indian government employee held a number of telephonic conversations, where the latter was heard asking Gupta to orchestrate a murder.

In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to "look into" any evidence substantiating Washington's claims.

In an exclusive interview with Financial Times, Modi said, "If someone gives us any information, we would definitely look into it."

"If a citizen of ours has done anything good or bad, we are ready to look into it. Our commitment is to the rule of law," the Prime Minister added.
