Guwahati, May 14 (IBNS): In a shocking incident that happened in central Assam’s Nagaon district, an angry mob beaten up a government doctor after a patient died at the hospital.

The incident took place at Kampur First referral units (FRU) in the central Assam district last night.

According to the reports, a person named Kamal Saikia, hailing from Kampur area, was admitted at the government run-hospital on Sunday evening after he felt sick.

The person allegedly died after the doctor of the government run hospital had pushed an injection in the patient's body.

Following the incident, angry mob beat up the government doctor inside the hospital and also tried to damage properties of the hospital.

Family members of the person and local people alleged that the person died due to wrong treatment by the doctor.

Naba Laskar, relative of the deceased person said that, it happened only because of doctor’s negligence.

"When the person was admitted at the hospital, the doctor had prescribed some medicines. He felt ill, but his condition was not bad. His condition became worst after the doctor had pushed an injection and within a short period he died," Naba Laskar said.
