Amit Shah speaks to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Palghar lynching, seeks report

New Delhi/UNI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray over the Palghar lynching incident and sought report from the State, a senior Home Ministry officials said here.

Two Sadhus of the Juna Akhara were allegedly killed by a mob in Palghar district of Maharashtra on April 16.

Reacting to the incident, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that action has been taken and the culprits have been arrested.

Taking micro-blogging site twitter, the Mahatrastra Chief Minister office on Sunday said “Nobody guilty in this heinous crime and shameful act will be spared and they will be brought to justice in the strongest way possible”.

The Sadhus, a 70-year-old Kalpavrishka Giri Maharaj and 35-year-old Sushil Giri Maharaj along with their driver 30-year-old Nilesh Telgade associated with the Juna Akhara were on their way from Mumbai to Gujarat and at Gadakchinchale village, a frenzied crowd of over more than 100 people attacked them.
