Agartala, Mar 8 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah has reached Tripura to attend the BJP-led NDA government's swearing-in ceremony, which will take place on Friday.

Shah reached Agartala, the state capital of Tripura on Thursday evening.

The NDA has uninstalled the 25-year long Left government in the state on last Saturday.

The BJP-IPFT alliance bagged 43 seats as opposed to Left's 16 seats in a 60-member Assembly with one seat left to be polled.

BJP state President Biplab Kumar Deb will succeed Manik Sarkar as the CM of Tripura.

A former gym instructor, Biplab was born in  Akraban, Udaipur in Gomoti District of Tripura. He  was a volunteer with the RSS earlier.

Following the poll results on Saturday, the state however has witnessed widespread violence.

Several BJP workers had brought down a statue of Revolutionary Communist leader Vladimir Lenin in Belonia town, drawing criticisms from different parts of the country.

The CPI-M has also alleged that several of its party offices in the state were ransacked by the BJP-RSS workers.
