Amazon must apologise for selling doormats featuring Indian flag: Sushma Swaraj

| | Jan 12, 2017, at 03:02 am
New Delhi, Jan 11 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday warned e-commerce marketplace Amazon that its officials will not be granted Indian visas after its Canada branch was found selling doormats featuring the national flag.

She has asked Amazon Canada to withdraw the product featuring Indian national flag immediately.

"Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately," Swaraj tweeted.

"If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the Visas issued earlier," it posted.

This comes after Indian High Commission in Canada Atul Bhobe took up the issue to Swaraj tweeting, "Amazon Canada must be censured and warned not to sell India flag doormats. Please take action."
