'Always a delight': PM Modi on meeting WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus in Gujarat

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus at Gujarat's Jamnagar on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, both dignitaries had met at the inauguration of the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister wrote: "Always a delight to meet @DrTedros and exchange notes on further strengthening the health sector. He always cherishes the influence of Indian teachers on his life. And today, he got a lot of praise for his Gujarati skills too! @WHO."

Tedros arrived in Rajkot city on Monday night.

The WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine, established under the ministry of Ayush, will be the first and the only global outpost centre for traditional medicine across the world.

It will emerge as an international hub of global wellness, the PMO said.

The primary objective of Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) is to harness the potential of traditional medicine from across the world through modern science and technology and improve overall health of the communities' the world over.
