Varanasi (UP): Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the suicide of model-turned-actor Akanksha Dubey, media reports said.

Samar Singh, who is the main accused in the case, was recently arrested in connection with the Akanksha Dubey suicide case.

Akanksha Dubey, 25, was found dead in a Varanasi hotel room on March 26. She was there for the shoot of her film, Laik Hoon Main Nalaik Nahin.

Her death was suspected to be a case of suicide, but no suicide note was recovered, according to the police.

Samar Singh and Sanjay Singh were the main accused in the case, India Today reported.

The police arrested Samar Singh from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

He was produced before a court in Varanasi today and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. Advocate Shashank Shekhar Tripathi said that Samar had presented a bail application, which they opposed.
