Air India privatisation not now: Civil Aviation Minister
Minister at the same time didn't ruled that out either. He maintained that keeping in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reform policy, Air India may be privatised in the future.
Raju added that Government is receiving various suggestions from different quarters in this regard.
Minister said, Centre is mulling to set-up an expert committee who will be examining those suggestion closely and report the Government.
But moving ahead with the reforms drive, Raju said that state-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI) and national helicopter company Pawan Hans will be listed on the stock exchanges shortly to improve transparency and efficiency.
It has been learnt that proposals for listing of AAI and Pawan Hans have been made in the Draft Civil Aviation Policy.
It may be mentioned that AAI at present manages 125 airports across the country, including 11 international, 81 domestic and eight customs airports. It also manages 25 Civil Enclaves at Defence Airfields.
On the other hand, Pawan Hans has emerged into Asia's largest helicopter company and has a fleet of 47 helicopters.
