New Delhi/IBNS: An Air India flight on Sunday evacuated the second batch of 323 stranded Indians from China's Wuhan city, which is the epicentre of Coronavirus.

The death toll from the Novel Coronavirus in China has reached 304 with 45 new fatalities recorded by close of Saturday, Chinese state media reported.

The second Air India special flight departed at 3:10 am (IST) from Wuhan on Sunday.

It landed at New Delhi airport around 9:40 am.

Indian Ambassador to People's Republic of China Vikram Misri tweeted: "The second flight from #Wuhan has just landed in #Delhi. We wish all those on board good health in the days ahead. Once again, thank you to #AirIndia, Team @MEAIndia  and @MFA_China."

The flight also carried seven Maldives citizens.

Expressing deep gratitude to India Government, Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid tweeted: "Deep gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and EM Dr S Jaishankar. Special thanks to Ambassadors Vikram Misri and Sunjay Sudhir and their teams."

The first special flight of Air India lifted 324 Indians stranded in virus-hit Wuhan on Saturday.

The passengers and cabin crew have been thoroughly checked to assure that they are medically fit.

The Indians who were evacuated from Wuhan on Saturday have been quarantined in a specially-prepared facility in Manesar near Delhi, reports said.
