Ahead of I-Day, security agencies warn of terrorist attack on BJP offices

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IBNS): Ahead of the Independence Day, security agencies have warned of a possible 26/11 style influx of terrorists from the sea along with an attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) offices, media reports said.
The agencies have asked administration and security forces to remain extra alert especially on the occasion of Independence Day.

Following the warning, the Home Ministry has asked security forces to remain cautious of the fact that the terrorists might use the air route to strike using para gliders to attack.

According to reports, the threat emanates from Pakistan-based terrorist groups and their Indian affiliates like the Indian Mujahideen and members of ex-SIMI.

The possible targets of attack could reportedly be places like Lotus Temple, Malls in Noida, Metro Stations, Red Fort and Political Personalities.

"In a communication to all the forces and state police, the Ministry has cited an April 16 input suggesting that Al Qaeda in the Indian Sub-Continent (AQIS) was actively engaged in planning attack against India at Indian Naval facilities and other unsecured waterfronts as potential target," CNN-IBN reported.
