New Delhi, May 31 (UNI): Shortly after taking over as Prime Minister for the second consecutive term, Narendra Modi has started on the work mission and held first important diplomatic engagements with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on Thursday evening.

"Held extensive deliberations with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Sooronbay Jeenbekov. Our talks covered the full spectrum of bilateral ties between our nations and ways to deepen economic and social cooperation in the times to come," the Prime Minister tweeted.

The Kyrgyz President had attended the oath-taking ceremony as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Chair.

Modi will hold separate bilateral meetings on Friday with Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering are also in the capital and bilateral meetings are on cards.

Meanwhile, sources said the first meeting of the new Union Cabinet is likely to be held on Friday where the road map of the Modi 2.0 dispensation will be chalked out.

The Cabinet will have to decide about Parliament session and the date for Joint Session of Parliament that would be addressed by the President Ram Nath Kovind.

In the first session after the change of regime and general elections, the newly-elected Lok Sabha members have to be administered oath.

Sources said senior lawmaker and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, who did not find place in the cabinet that was sworn in on Thursday, may be appointed as Protem Speaker.
