Actorr Ramya to to take charge of Congress campaign on social media

New Delhi, May 11 (IBNS) : Actor-politician Ramya will be the new head of digital communications for the Congress, taking charge of social media and IT as the party struggles to reach out to a larger section of the masses to cope with the BJP might, NDTV reported quoting its sources.

Ramya, 34, was a popular star in Kannada films. She joined the Congress in 2012 and has served as an MP from Mandya Constituency.

On Twitter, she has over 4,83,000 followers.

Her new role has not officially been announced yet.

Ramya replaces Deepinder Hooda, 39, who founded the IT wing and ran it for five years.
