Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 30 (UNI) Over 10 kg of gold worth about Rs 10 crore was seized from a contract employee at the international airport here on Tuesday.

CISF officials intercepted AC mechanic Aneesh, employed on contract basis, at the airport, when he tried to move out carrying a bag.

Though he tried to run away, the security officials caught him red-handed and handed over to custom officials.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the mechanic was acting as an 'agent of smuggling'.

Interrogation is being carried out to know from where the gold was brought to the airport.
