Guwahati, June 8 (IBNS) : Suspected militants released kidnapped Superintendent Manager of Maijonga tea estate in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Wednesday night, according to police reports.

Manager Navin Joshi, 50, was abducted by an armed militant group from a palce near the Mornoi tea estate under Grahampur area on June 2 evening.

A top police official said that suspected adivasi militants had released him on Wednesday night.

The police official said that investigation is going on into the abduction incident and Joshi is under medical treatment.

Meanwhile, a reliable source said that adivasi militants, who had earlier surrendered, are likely behind the abduction incident and allegedly freed the manager after receiving ransom money.
