AAP's CM face in Gujarat Assembly polls Isudan Gadhvi loses to BJP candidate by 18,000 votes

Ahmedabad/IBNS: Aam Admi Party (AAP) chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi lost to his nearest contender Ayar Mulubhai Hardasbhai Bera from the Khambhalia seat in the Gujarat Assembly elections.

Gadhvi, a journalist-turned-politician, is a native of Pipaliya village of Devbhumi Dwarka district.

Media reports said Bera polled 10 percent more votes than the AAP leader.

Gadhvi, 40, entered politics just a year back, in June 2021.

A greenhorn in politics, Gadhvi responded to AAP’s call for change after 27 years of uninterrupted BJP rule in the state.

He was made the party's national joint general secretary by party chief Arvind Kejriwal in November this year.

AAP had sought people’s opinions on who should be made the party’s CM face in the Gujarat Assembly Elections.

More than 70 percent of respondents aired their support for Gadhvi.
