AAP questions Misra's appointment

New Delhi, July 13 (IBNS) Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadm Party (AAP) on Sunday questioned the appointment of Nripendra Misra as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Nripendra Misra was TRAI chief when it allowed 2G scam to take place!" the AAP tweeted.

The party said it will oppose the bill introduced by the BJP-led NDA government in the Lok Sabha on Friday to change the law for making the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary eligible for the post, who according to the existing law cannot hold the post.

" The AAP is of the clear view that the law cannot be changed for making an otherwise ineligible individual to take up a particular post, by first abusing the emergency powers of the government by bringing an ordinance, and then wasting the time of Parliament to suit the whims and fancies of an individual considered dear to the ruling establishment," the AAP said in a statement.

"The BJP has made many u-turns in its 45-day rule so far, and the first of such u-turns was the decision to bring an ordinance to make Mr Nripendra Misra eligible for the post of principal secretary to the Prime Minister," the party said.
