97 motorists booked for drunk driving in Goa during New Year celebrations

Panaji/UNI: As many as 97 motorists were booked on charge of driving under the influence of alcohol on New Year Day in Goa on Wednesday.

According to police, during New Year Celebrations elaborate traffic arrangements were made throughout the state, specially on the National Highways and along the coastal belt.

No fatal or serious accidents were reported on the National Highways and along the Coastal Belt.

However, one fatal road accident was reported at Dona Paula wherein one motorcyclist lost his life.

The state police had issued advisory ahead of the New Year celebrations asking all the motorists to drive safely and responsibly.
